DAY 1- Creatures highlands

some ideas for what the alien ecosystem in the world might look like.

a physical trait that many of these alien creatures share is the fact that what we would normally expect to be the heads of these creatures if they were from earth, is in fact a form of highly developed appendage similar to a mandible while its eyes and central nervous system still sits at what we might expect to be the shoulders/torso.

I specifically did this so that these creatures feel like nothing that would have evolved on Earth. Although similarities in body structures (wings, limbs) and food chain hierarchy (large herbivore, sleek carnivore, etc) may arise from evolving in a planet with similar conditions to earth, they still branched from an entirely different early ancestor from the ones that many of Earth's animals branched out from.
